‘i am evidence’ and ‘Baltimore rising’ nominated for cinema eye honors

HBO had four films nominated for this year’s Cinema Eye Honors in the category of Outstanding Achievement in Nonfiction Film for Broadcast. Marc Levin of Blowback Productions was the executive producer of two nominated films: Sonja Sohn’s Baltimore Rising and Trish Adlesic & Geeta Gandbhir’s I Am Evidence.

I Am Evidence showcases the devastating consequences of the hundreds of thousands of untested rape kits in the United States. This film explores this issue through survivors’ experiences as they confront the criminal justice process.

Baltimore Rising follows activists, police officers, community leaders and gang affiliates who struggle to hold Baltimore together in wake of the death of Freddie Gray, even as the homicide rate hits record levels, and explores how to make change when change is hard.
