class divide

SPECIAL THEATRICAL RUN
APRIL 13-19 at the IFC CENTER
HBO Documentary Films® and Blowback Productions present the final film in a trilogy from director Marc Levin and producer Daphne Pinkerson (HBO’s “Schmatta: Rags To Riches To Rags” and “Hard Times: Lost On Long Island”) that explores the impact of global economic forces on working people and their families. CLASS DIVIDE looks at hyper-gentrification in NYC and rising income inequality through the microcosm of two distinct worlds that share the same intersection — 10th Ave. and 26th St.
Since 2012, an elite private school and luxury condos sit directly across the street from the Elliott Chelsea Houses, which have provided low-income public housing for decades. What happens when young people from both sides of the street attempt to cross the divide?
