Synopsis

The documentary on District 1199, the hospital workers' union, this film interviews and profiles union members, and looks at their political, economic and social struggles. Performances by some of 1199's supporters from the arts - Pete Seeger, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee, Stephanie Mills, the late Sam Levinson and Jane Fonda - are also included.
